The final version of "The Quantum Universe," a report from the HEPAP subcommittee chaired by Persis Drell is now available at:

 

 

The goal of the report is to explain the basic questions that particle physics aims to address, and to connect these questions with other approaches to understanding the universe (for example, how do collider searches relate to dark matter?). When reading it, please remember that the intended audience is non-experts, and Washington in particular.  Hopefully there will be at least some ideas in there that will help you when explaining what we are doing at D0 and how it relates to these basic questions.
